Holy Heroes Soccer Grand Finalists
Holy Heroes played their last and final game last week! THE GRAND FINAL! Yes, you read that correctly. The Holy Heroes made it to the finals. A guest reporter is writing this, so bear with me, the loving nicknames of past reports may be altered and/or missing altogether.
After a week of illnesses, Holy Heroes resembled a bunch of war-ravaged soldiers. We started strong against a worthy opponent, some parents from Holy Name. They were quick and knew how to pass beautifully.
The first half saw us down a couple of quick goals. Celebration was had by Sophie Tull who scored her first goal, albeit for the opposition. The opportunity was just too good! Poor Macy Moy went down with an injury. So spirits were down.
Second half started poorly with their goalkeeper scoring in the first few seconds. We had a celebrity appearance by Deirdre Nolan, who had been poorly all week.
In the last few moments of the game, to save us from complete devastation. Rose "The Gun" Loring dribbled around multiple defenders, put her body on the line, and scored a brilliant goal.
Thank you to our wonderful supporters who came and cheered us on! The biggest turn-out of the night, reminiscent of a Taylor Swift concert. We appreciate you so much!
One positive takeaway, other than actually making it to the final, is some of our opposition are joining our team for our next adventure - the Viking Challenge!
