Breakfast Club & Mini Vinnies
Our Monday morning Breakfast Club continues to be a hit with students. Our dedicated Mini Vinnies arrive early to help make hot Milo and toast, with spreads like jam, Vegemite, and honey on offer. On Wednesdays, they’re back again, preparing fresh fruit platters to share around. It’s wonderful to see so many students filling their bellies and getting ready for a great day of learning.
Art Club
Art Club has now moved to the space between the Kindergarten and Year 1 rooms and is available at both first and second lunch. Students can choose from a wide range of colouring activities including Bluey, mindful animals, beautiful Aboriginal designs, look-and-find sheets, and much more. They also get to use pencils, crayons, markers, and cubbies, making it a fun and creative space for everyone. There is always music to sing along to while colouring.
Creative Club
Creative Club is new and started in Term 3. It’s held in the library every day except Wednesday. So far, students have created paper birds, fairy houses, and tube birds (which will be part of a giant display at the Manning Regional Art Gallery in September as part of the Feathered – Birds in Myth and Memory exhibition). Right now, students are making colourful paper lizards to take home, some lizards have been big, some small, some with teeth and some without.
Wellbeing Week
Wellbeing Week was filled with activities for both students and teachers. Jacqui G’s lavender bag making was a popular choice, hopefully helping some students get a restful night’s sleep. Lara M offered yoga sessions and whale painting, both of which booked out quickly and gave students a calm and creative way to start or finish their day. Robyn guided dreamcatcher making, with many students proudly creating catchers to hang above their beds.
It has been such a joy to see students engaging in so many positive, creative, and wellbeing-focused activities. We look forward to sharing more with you next time!
